Welcome featured author Eileen Schuh as she talks about the near future and why she imagined it to be as it is in DISPASSIONATE LIES

The future is hazy, sometimes scary and apocalyptic, and always intriguing. Science Fiction fans and authors love to feed that fear of the unknown, that horrifying ‘what-if?’. They perch as if at the top of the roller coaster, terrified to the core but anticipating the thrill.
Science Fiction also probes the positives—time travel, space travel, invisibility, other beings, high tech. It exaggerates what we are familiar with—evil with unfathomable power often battles the underdog doers of good and our technology is super-sized.
DISPASSIONATE LIES takes us a few steps into a future that, although familiar, is different than the world we know today. It takes the scientific research of 2014 over the brink of hypothesis and theory into actuality and we tumble along with it in the year 2035.
Perhaps metamaterials are the norm, nanotech is providing magical fabrics and computing has leapt to astounding new levels. Perhaps people are different, evolving. Perhaps international borders are less defined, perhaps politics have risen to higher state, perhaps hackers have collapsed the internet, compromising all digital data, collapsing economies and concealing the past.
Perhaps power lies not in weapons but in knowledge and perhaps one woman is about to become the master of the most powerful computer ever built, owner of all things known and yet-to-be-known, possessor of instantaneous, pulsating, expanding awareness and comprehension. Ladesque—if only she can first solve the mysteries of her past.

Eileen Schuh  has published two adult Science Fiction novellas, SCHRÖDINGER'S CAT) and her new near-future release, DISPASSIONATE LIES. She also has authored three novels in her young adult BackTracker series, THE TRAZ, FATAL ERROR and FIREWALLS. THE TRAZ is also available in a School Edition.

Her new near-future release, DISPASSIONATE LIES explores female sexual against a backdrop of high-tech science, governmental and pharmaceutical conspiracies, espionage, and perhaps even murder.

SCHRÖDINGER'S CAT, with its tangled relationships, weaves intense emotion into the science of multi-universes.

Schuh, born Eileen Fairbrother in Tofield, Alberta lives in Canada’s northern boreal forests and draws her inspiration from the wilderness, her grandchildren, family, and friends, and her adopted community of St. Paul, Alberta.
